Throughout history and most recently during the Covid-19 pandemic, many individuals of Asian descent, including the artist himself, have fallen victims to racist attacks in public spaces. For the performance video "Falling Reversely" Isaac Chong Wai worked with Asian diaspora performers based in Berlin to express solidarity through collective body movements. "Falling Reversely" is an attempt to reverse the movements of falling as a response to institutional violence and assaults against Asian diaspora. As if practising a ritual, the performers share the collective pain of violation and reclaim the autonomy of their own bodies.
